   Instead of talking about the weather, which you might have guessed from the title is  chilly and slightly overcast, I shall talk about something else, something short and light. I have 23 days of school left! Then, I leave for Quebec where some changes might take effect here on the blog. (Hint: Bonjour, baguettes,chat)

This Week 005

I had missed two weeks of roundups, but all for good reason. I was yoddeling up in the mountains. Okay, maybe I was singing…and it was in a mountain village resort. You get my point, I’ve been away dealing with other parts of my life a.k.a being a teenager in high school. The trip to a youth music festival was lovely and there was plenty to see. If you get what I mean (;   Meet Joe Dempsie. Unbeknownst to many is my slight addiction to the UK teen drama series Skins; Joe was part of the cast in the first season back in 2008. He gives me hope. Growing a few years older really can change a person’s face, and for the better that is. ps. I want to to be the next Joe Dempsie. pps. Here’s my weekly choice of an unknown cool sounding song from the interwebs. Once again, I have no idea who sang it or what it’s about. It just sounds nice! Does anyone else follow a more abstract way of deciding whether they like a certain song or not? My first ever online purchase came in the mail this week. Inherited from my parents, I have a fear of purchasing items online. But man, the adrenaline rush you get when you click away to your purchase, wait for its arrival, and finally open the lovely box that’s been waiting for you on the kitchen counter is too much to resist. NEW| A Little Birthday Present

  These could not have arrived at a more perfect date. As I walk in to my house on a sunny afternoon the 8th of May, the little parcel from ASOS pleasantly surprised me; it perched unassumingly on the kitchen counter. As you all know, my birthday just came up, so I had decided to get a little present for myself a few days earlier.

  I had previously talked about wanting a pair of Mirrored Sunglasses, so I thought I’d just go for it and actually buy something for myself. I only had two things in mind, 1. It had to be cheap 2. It had to be disposable. I’ve preached endlessly about longevity and classicism, but you’d come off as a really dull librarian. Wear something weird sometimes. These sunglasses from ASOS are perfectly weird enough for me this summer.

A Year Older

    Waking up this morning, was different from the same 16 mornings of the past. I wasn’t excited, I wasn’t giddy and I wasn’t anticipating anything. This morning, the one where I am officially 17 years old, I felt contented. I suppose I’ve just been sick of the roller coaster ride of the recent years. I’m honestly getting tired of all the new things that seem to pop up every year. On my 17th birthday, I want to settle into myself. I am contented with who I have become in 17 years, I’d just love to continue.

    Just as I’d want to settle into myself, I’d love to see the same thing for Stilo Dorito. The 16 year old me has developed this website into something more stable and I’d love to settle into that. That being said, I can’t wait for the innovations the 17 year old me will be pulling off. Happy Birthday to me!

SUMMER BODY

 

    The heat here in western Canada had escalated so much over the weekend. Spring officially felt like summer, and being stuck in a tourist city (Whistler BC) with gorgeous looking people showing off their bodies had me thinking about my summer body.

  Perhaps it’s too late. I have 6 weeks to go from zero to hero and I wish I had started earlier, but it’s all about the perspective. I’m thinking of making my workouts just that bit tougher to actually create a slight change. The key to being happy within your own skin while trying to make a change is creating realistic goals. Personally, I think that a weight loss goal of 8-12 lbs. is a realistic goal for myself. I just have to keep up my cardio regimen, eat A LOT better and quite possibly do a short “challenge” course. I was thinking of doing the 100 push-up a day challenge. More on this as it progresses!
