Same shit, different day in terms of clothing. Like I’ve said, I like the idea of regularity and “uniforms” so I wear a lot of outfits pretty much the same way, I literally just change one piece. The shorts I’m wearing here, I almost wear everyday. They have proven to be the shorts of the summer, and the fact that they used to be some ugly pair of pants that I randomly decided to cut one morning totally makes it way rad.

Yes, I can actually ride the longboard. It’s one of those “guy things” I do. I could be better since I think I’m still a wuss, but I’m absolutely not bad lol.

WANT/Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D

 I've probably said more than 10 times on the how I want better pictures. I want to do that by buying a new lens. Ever since I bought my camera actually, I've always wanted to get this lens. For the not-so-camera-savvy a simple explanation of what's special about this lens is it's pretty much what every blogger is using. Why? It has low aperture. It blurs out the background really well, and brings all the focus on the subject, which is hopefully my outfit. I also read, that since it has a wider aperture, that it can take better pictures in darker settings. Depending on which one I get it would either cost $150 or $250. Let's hope I get this soon!

OUTFIT|Kickin’ it Safari-Style

 

This is one of my more “interesting” outfits this week. Everything else was pretty much s.h.i.t I actually wore a cardigan on top of this in the morning, but I was too lazy to grab it from my bag. I was in such a “hurry” to take a picture that I didn’t even properly focus my camera. Yes, the reason why the pictures are small is so that I can hide its “blurriness”

I love wearing black on top of black on top of black. I love it because you can go crazy with shapes, textures, cuts and everything else, while not looking too weird for the everyday person. I’m not a people-repeller so kudos to Leandra Medine for doing what she does!

Joachim here did a good job of what I would do with all black pieces, but I am most fond of his self-made bomber jacket.It makes me wish 10x more that I can sew clothes. For the following cold season, I’m actually looking to buy a black puffy jacket, or a bomber similar to the one above.It would come in very handy for my basic simple style and my student lifestyle. I only need a few durable pieces. My only fear is looking like a nammer. (not diggin’ it)

The recent men`s fashion weeks indeed inspired me…but in a different way than the rest.
The spring/summer menswear trends are fresh off the runways, everyone is talking about them and everyone is inspired by them. Well fashion week inspired me with all of the male models. They all seem to dress the same way off-duty.

Okay, so do I look like a model to you?(with exclusion of my face and body haha!) I mean look at streetstyle pictures, and all the male models off-duty kinda dress the same way. tee with pushed/rolled-up sleeves, blue jeans and a backpack. Seriously, this is what I went for. I’m still quite uncomfortable with showing so much arms though… haha. I lack the guns

ps. Would you believe I bought the jeans I’m wearing on the pic for $10 and the leather backpack for $8?

PIECES|Simple Light Source

 My room is still in the renovation process, well actually it took a halt right now. A bit of down time but the projects will usually be done in no time with the help of a carpenter-family friend.

Just wanted to share with you guys. It’s simple, cool and totally DIY-ed. It is literally a plug a cute light bulb and some wire, then one can pretty much take it anywhere. I’m also thinking of doing this, but putting the light bulb inside a mason jar to make a really cool modern-shabby-vintage(modern and vintage in the same sentence?!) “light orb”—perfect for late night reading when ceiling lights just ruin your studying mood.

ps. I’ve been blogging on Stilo Dorito for more than a year! I had hoped to reach the 50 follower mark by a year on Stilo Dorito, but I came close to 49 followers on Google Reader! Officially, this is my 2nd year in the blogosphere. Any of you guys remember Broke Fashion Junkie? HAHA

I am totally in love with the “Terry Richardson” style of photography.

Ever since the idea came to me that I would want to take blog pictures indoors in my room, the flash photography look of Terry Richardson’s work has always been an inspiration. I immediately thought of flash, in a slightly “harsh” look that most photo-freaks stray away from; but I like it. I am now thinking of buying some better lighting and a wireless remote. I’m adding that to the 100 or so things on my wishlist. I REALLY regret not finding/having a job right now.

I should also talk about my outfit. Well I’ve long been a fan of mixing denim together. It’s right up my alley with the whole “monochromacy” (is that a word?). It’s a nice and simplistic way of adding interest to the eyes. It’s weird, the good type.

ps. YES, it was necessary to dress like this during the time as the rain was POURING. It’s very summer-y now though. Let’s it stays like this for a while.
